Cumbersome undeliverable receipts in MS Outlook

Hi hiqi,

Interesting problem.

The solution that comes to my mind is to continue receiving messages on your problematic account, but change the SMTP server to use Gmail’s SMTP server instead. Of course, this means that all your emails will then be sent through Gmail’s SMTP server.

To do this, first close Outlook completely and then press the button Windows key on your keyboard and type Control Panel then hit your Enter key

Change the display settings from the control panel by Big Where Small icons then click on Mail (Microsoft Outlook) (32-bit)

In the window that opens, click on the Mail accounts button

Then click Change (or double-click) on the email account you’re having trouble with.

Change the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): details on this page of what they are currently, for

Now click on the More settings and enter the details needed to use Gmail’s free SMTP server on the two the Outgoing server and Advanced tabs.

Enter the required credentials and port numbers as shown in this sample article here:

Click OK and test your shipment. If everything is set up correctly, any outgoing mail from this account will now be sent through Gmail’s SMTP server.

Now the above is a workaround, but it should work. I tested it once myself without a problem.

If you want to troubleshoot your Outlook to see if there are any issues, you can refer to an article I posted about it here:

This is in case you want to check it out. Personally I think you are on the money when you say your email address might be on a block list external to your computer, but you never know so it may be worth going through the troubleshooting steps. that I detailed in my article.

If all else fails, just tell Outlook to never send any receipts or read receipts, but that won’t solve the problem of not being able to send emails to your friend without using Gmail’s SMTP server.

Hope this can help.

Sincerely, André
