New Board Appointments “Stabilize” Human Settlements


They understand the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC), Housing Development Agency (HDA), Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), Social Housing Foundation / Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) and the Community Schemes Ombud Service.

Minister Mamoloko Kubayi said the appointments would bring stability to entities that were sometimes “sown with internal strife, rapid and frequent changes of leadership, poor governance, corruption and loss of technical capacity.”

Kubayi briefed the media in Tshwane on Friday.

“Leadership instability, internal strife and loss of technical capacity in both HDA and NHBRC have forced us to appoint trustees for both institutions.

“With regard to CSOS, SHRA and PPRA, the terms of the board of directors have ended. Bank of settlements.

Ms. Nomusa Mufamadi holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Accounting. She is the Executive Chairman of Mululamasi / Hampfuna Mining and Exploration (Pty) Ltd. She is a former head of forensic audit at SNG. She has sat on numerous boards of directors of other public entities in various capacities.


Dr. Tshilidzi Ratshitanga holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Delaware. He is the founder and CEO of New Cities New Economies Group, with a vision to build inclusive, safe, modern, compact and smart cities on the African continent.


Mr. Steven Piet Ngubeni holds a Masters of Science (Real Estate Economics and Valuation), a Masters in Business Law and is currently working on a PhD. in Real Estate. He has held leadership positions in various organizations


Ms Busisiwe Nzo is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has been in the profession since 1995. She has been an outgoing interim member of the Council of the Social Housing Regulatory Authority since 2018. Busisiwe has offered her professional services to some of the major projects such as Nelson Mandela Bay. 2010 World Cup metropolitan stadium, offices of the National Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, Sarah Baartman Memorial Center and various residential projects, among others.


Ms. Mthethwa Marvelous Phindile holds a Master of Management in Business Executive Coaching. She has served on board entities such as South African National Blood Services, Strategic Partners Group, Nedbank Medical Aid Board of Trustees, among others. She has held leadership positions in organizations such as IBM South Africa, Nedbank Group and Standard Bank of South Africa Limited.
