Today, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce held its 2022 annual meeting at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi.

During the event, the President’s gavel of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce was passed from Ron Barnes of the Coast Electric Power Association to Sam Sandoz of Hancock Whitney.

A preview of the entire bedroom completed in 2021 was shared with the guests. Last year, the chamber had over $37,000 in small business grants, $14,000 in city division scholarships, and funded $1,000 in Gulf Coast Leadership Scholarships.

At the end of the meeting, the Pat Santucci Spirit of the Coast Award was presented to Anthony Wilson, President, President and CEO of Mississippi Power and an active community leader. “It is a great honor to do so. I couldn’t believe all the past recipients standing here a few moments ago, they’ve accomplished great things in their personal careers but most importantly their service to the Gulf Coast and I’m very proud to be part of this group of people.”

Wilson has led numerous non-profit, business, and community organizations, having a significant and lasting impact on the economic development, education, and overall quality of life of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
