Hector Miguel DeSouza, Jr., 73, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at a local hospital.
He was a 1967 graduate of Rainbow City High School and received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Florida. Hector retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority as an electrical engineer after many years of service. He was a member of the Silverdale Baptist Church.
Hector was predeceased by his father, Hector M. DeSouza, Sr. and his mother, Joyce A. DeSouza.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Brenda C. DeSouza; sons, Michael D. (Tracy) DeSouza of Atlanta, GA and Marco D. (Calena) DeSouza of Tampa, FL; daughters, Lacye A. DeSouza of Chattanooga and Caron N. (Cervernie) Cone of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Micah DeSouza, Cara Cone, Montré DeSouza and Chandler DeSouza; great-grandchildren, Kiyre DeSouza and Kiyzah DeSouza; brothers, Dario (Gloria) DeSouza of Panama and Ruben (Thomasina) DeSouza of Houston, TX; sisters, Patricia DeSouza of San Antonio, TX, Lilia DeSouza of Panama and Antonia DeSouza-Sobers of San Antonio, TX; a host of nieces; nephews; grandnieces; grand-nephews; the cousins; many friends and other loved ones.
Hector will be in state Tuesday, April 12 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens with Dr. William Belva delivering the eulogy.
